CLR James  Tea Towel

Cyril Lionel Robert James (1901-1989) was a Trinidadian writer, socialist and pioneering voice in postcolonial literature. He wrote World Revolution in 1937, a history of the Communist International, which provoked much debate in Communist circles. In 1938, he wrote The Black Jacobins, an seminal account of the Haitian Revolution. He also wrote plays and fiction. His novel Minty Alley of 1936 was the first by a black West Indian to be published in Britain. He also wrote on cricket, and his 1963 book of  reminiscences Beyond a Boundary is considered by many the best ever book on cricket.

Minty Alley has recently been reissued by Penguin and is available on The Cornrow bookshop, as is The Black Jacobins, suffice to say we are big fans over here!

Description

Half Panama unbleached cotton (heavy weight, textured finish). Stitched on all four sides. Includes hanging loop. Measures approximately 48cm x 70cm.

Machine wash at 40 degrees max. We recommend that before you use your tea towel for the first time you wash it at least once to soften up the material and make it more absorbent for drying dishes. Please note size can vary slightly.
