Martin Luther King Tea Towel

Martin Luther King Tea Towel

True peace is not merely the absence of tension: it is the presence of justice.’

We all know the greatness of the man, Martin Luther King.

The quote on this tea towel comes from his letter from a Birmingham jail where he stated that he has come to the "regrettable conclusion" that the greatest stumbling block to equality is not the KKK or such groups, but actual the white moderate who is more devoted to order than to justice. Those, in other words, who agree with his goals but not his protest methods. However as MLK pointed out, " we know through painful experience that freedom in never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed".

This sentiment is still so powerful and still 100% relevant today.
