Nelson Mandela Tea Towel
This quote was part of a three-hour speech Nelson Mandela made on the docks in 1964, before he was sent to Robben Island for life imprisonment. Mandela, a young man in South Africa, was an anti-apartheid activist and the leader of the armed wing of the African National Congress (ANC), and these actions led him to be imprisoned “for conspiring to overthrow the state.” I think we can all agree that the state needed overthrowing.
